FAQs

What does Electrostatic Disinfection mean?

Electrostatic disinfection is based on the principle that opposite charges attract and like charges repel. Two positively charged things will repel each other.

The MyHome Electrostatic Disinfection system gives a positive charge to the disinfection solution before it enters the nozzle so it can be sprayed at negatively charged surfaces (most surfaces are either negative or neutral) to achieve complete coverage of the targeted surfaces.

What is Electrostatic wrapping?

When you spray a solution charged with electrostatics, the solution will wrap around and stick to conductive surfaces. MyHome Electrostatic Disinfection provides a unique system for broad and safe use.

How does Electrostatic Disinfection create liquid adhesion?

MyHome Electrostatic Disinfection provides a fast and effective chemical application. As fully-charged droplets hit the surface they create an even spread. Particles hold their cationic charge for approx. 2-3 seconds – preventing drips. This allows the solution to cover hidden and shadowed areas, and also enables you to cover a large area in a small amount of time.

Does Electrostatic Disinfection reduce cross contamination?

In most cases, a spray-and-wipe technique can move bacteria from one surface to another. Cross contamination can be considerably reduced due to the touchless effect of Myhome Electrostatic Disinfection.

What is the difference between Fogging and Electrostatic Disinfection?

Fogging machines tend to leave a shadow when they settle and do not achieve the same wrap around on surfaces that Electrostatic Sprayers do.  Also, fogging machines create a very small particle size, so it is critical to wear PPE.  Everyone must also leave the area being treated and remain away for at least an hour (depending on the chemical). With Electrostatic Disinfection, your surfaces are safe and ready to use after just 15 minutes.

This also means you need to go slower so you can get the surface areas wet long enough to be effective, which generally means you use more chemicals. Fogging machines also leave a residue that needs to be wiped afterwards.

Why do you need Electrostatic Disinfection?

Regular and thorough cleaning is a great first step in disinfection. But it is virtually impossible to disinfect every square inch of surface area in your home in this way. Germs and bacteria can spread onto hard-to-reach surfaces faster than they can be cleaned away.

In fact, colonies of bacteria and viruses can hide in areas that simply can’t be reached with regular cleaning methods and equipment. Electrostatic Disinfection applies a finely atomised solution with positive charged electrical droplets that are attracted to negatively charged surfaces.

This advanced technique effectively treats the visible, underside and backside surfaces of an object with the disinfecting solution.

Is Electrostatic Disinfection eco-friendly?

MyHome Electrostatic Disinfectant Sprayers give an eco-friendly approach to disinfection by spraying up to 65% less chemicals per square metre.

Are your products environmentally friendly?

MyHome take their social responsibility seriously and we are always striving to improve our ‘carbon footprint’. As a result we go as far as possible to use products that don’t impact the environment in a negative way.
