Hi, I’m James Mak and I own and manage MyHome Castle Hill, providing premium residential cleaning services to the residents of Castle Hill and surrounding areas, including West Pennant Hills, Cherrybrook, Dural, Annangrove, Bella Vista, Toongabbie and Glenwood.

I’ve called the areas around Castle Hill home for nearly 30 years. My wife Ivy and I have three kids: Kristy, Liori, and Nevio. If you have a keen eye, you might notice our names actually follow the alphabet (I, J, K, L…)! It is super hard to stick with this pattern, that is why we decided to stop having kids.

You may notice that letter M is missing from the names. It is because we have a dog “Mo”, he is part of the family and we include him in the alphabet as well! My wife and I love Mo, because he is always the first at the dinner table without having us to yell.

Like many local families, Castle Towers is our usual weekend hangout, but being in the Hills, we also love getting outdoors to explore the many parks and bush tracks.

The Castle Hill area is very multi-cultural – a big reason why I love this area so much, because of the community respect and values for different cultures. I love the mix of people here, so I love that my MyHome business lets me help those same people – people just like you – claim back precious time to spend on whatever you enjoy most in life, by letting us take care of all your residential cleaning needs.

What I love about Castle Hill…

I love spending time in The Burrow Cherrybrook. It is tucked away in a small shopping village that gives the vibes of the late 90s. There is also strong community bondings there too, especially with different events (e.g. Trivia night, painting class…etc) on Friday evening and sometimes in the afternoon over the weekends. And of course, it goes without saying that the food & coffee are great.

If you feel like some Chinese food, try out Castle Terrace Chinese Cuisine near Castle Mall. The pork belly soup is our family favorite – it’s only available for dine in, but definitely worth it!

We’re spoilt with lots of amazing parks and bushlands in this area, but Erlestoke Park is one of the parks I’ve loved hanging out in since I moved into the area 30 years ago. It is small, but it has equipment, basket ball court, BBQs… and toilets! I love that my kids are now riding on the same bike tracks that I used to ride on.

I’m passionate about supporting other small local businesses, and highly recommend Jungwon Meat Mart located in an arcade near Castle Hill Mall. They have marinated meat which is always handy when we have to cook a quick meal after work. They also have meat for kBBQ and hot pot. The best thing? They always give a pack of biscuit to my kids whenever we visit!

We also support the Hills Hornets, as my daughter trains with them on the weekend at Hills Basketball Stadium.

Our kids love going to the Easter Camp at St Paul’s Anglican Church Castle Hill during school holidays. The camp this year was pokemon themed, they had much fun making their own “pokeball”. My wife and I get to enjoy a peaceful day while they get to have fun, what’s not to love? They also have bouncy castles and face painting for kids every quarter. And no, you don’t have to be a Christian to join – everyone is welcome.

I take pride in being a blood donor, and supporting Lifeblood – “Life is the reason” and donating blood saves lives. There are plenty of mobile / pop up donor centres around the Hills area, and I encourage you to donate regularly.

How long does each clean take?

It varies. We don’t quote on time, we quote on the job. So, you will pay the same price every time regardless of how many cleaners or how long it takes. This gives you consistency and also puts the onus back on MyHome to get the job done properly and efficiently.

Can I get a quote first?

Yes of course! Either fill in your details to request a quick quote., or call us today on 13 22 31. We will then book a viewing appointment for you with a local manager. They will take a quick look around your home (number of rooms, layout, size etc.) then provide an on-the-spot, no obligation quote that caters to your cleaning needs.

Can I have a trial period?

A trial period isn’t really required as you can cancel your MyHome service at any time. Just call us up. There’s no obligation with a regular clean to continue the service – but if there is anything you’re not happy with, please tell us as we will always try to resolve or improve rather than lose you as a valued customer.

What about a key – or access to my property if I’m out at work?

That’s not a problem. We hold keys to most of our customers’ homes as a lot of them work full time. It goes without saying – we will handle keys in the best interests of security and discretion at all times. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to be at home
when our cleaners visit, then that’s fine too.

How much will it cost?

That depends. When you request a quote, a MyHome representative will get in touch to make a viewing appointment. They will then take a quick look around your home (number of rooms, layout, size etc.) then provide an on-the spot quote. But don’t worry there’s no obligation. You can then have as much time as you want to think about it and get back to us. Once you give us the go-ahead, we will schedule in a cleaning date and time – either as a one-off or on a regular basis.

How do I pay?

It’s easy and convenient. You simply give us your bank or credit card details (which we treat with the strictest security and confidentiality at all times) and we debit the amount off your card each time. We will also provide a full invoice each time we visit for your records.
